Playwright Registration

Simple, direct, and secure. This registration is for writers who want schools to perform and stream their original plays on School Play Stream.

Once registered, you can log in immediately and begin uploading your work.

Important: You must only upload content that you own and have the right to license. Do not upload copyrighted material owned by others, and do not submit content that is offensive, explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a school environment.

What you can do

Upload plays: Add your script, synopsis, duration, and number of speaking roles.

Create licences: Generate licences so verified schools can legally link their performance videos to your play.

Reach schools: Your scripts are visible only to verified schools on the platform.

Earnings: You receive €2 net for every purchased video linked to your play.

By registering, you confirm that all submitted works are original, appropriate for schools, and that you grant permission for verified schools to perform and stream them via School Play Stream.

1. About the Service

School Play Stream enables playwrights to make original school-appropriate scripts available to verified schools and to receive royalties when performances are recorded and viewed.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

Registration is limited to individual writers submitting original works.

By registering, you confirm that:
	•	you own or control the rights to all submitted works,
	•	your content is suitable for a school environment,
	•	you have authority to license the work via the Platform.

3. Script Licensing Model

Playwrights may upload scripts free of charge to schools, subject to the following conditions:
	•	If a school performs the script, the performance must be recorded and uploaded to the Platform.
	•	The uploaded video must be linked to the correct playwright licence.

Failure by a school to do so constitutes a breach of its obligations to the playwright.

4. Promotion by Schools

As a condition of providing scripts via the Platform, schools agree to:
	•	credit the playwright in reasonable promotional materials,
	•	include the playwright’s name in relevant advertising or social media for the production.

5. Royalties

For each purchased video linked to a playwright’s script:
	•	the playwright receives €2 net per purchase.

No minimum earnings are guaranteed.

6. Content Standards & Moderation

All uploads are subject to automated moderation.
Content that is offensive, explicit, unlawful, or unsuitable for schools may be blocked or removed.

7. Intellectual Property

Playwrights retain full ownership of their works.
School Play Stream receives a limited licence to display, stream, and administer licensed content within the Platform.

8. Suspension & Termination

Accounts may be suspended or terminated for:
	•	breach of these Terms,
	•	submission of inappropriate or infringing material,
	•	legal or safeguarding concerns.

9. Availability & Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis.
Liability is limited to the extent permitted under Irish law.
